Goodman celebrates green glory
26 November 2009
Arlington Square, Bracknell’s premier business park, which is managed by international property group Goodman, has won one of Europe’s leading accolades in the landscape industry.
Now in its 33rd year, the annual prestigious BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) National Landscape Awards pay tribute to outstanding professionalism and skill in the landscape industry. Arlington Square, Bracknell, triumphed with three other sites managed by Goodman around the UK, in the Grounds Maintenance of a Multi Site category.
Arlington Square is an excellent location for businesses that want to be positioned in the heart of the Thames Valley. Grade A office space is located alongside extensive mature landscaping, managed by a team from Reliance Landscapes. The 22 acre site offers relaxing natural surroundings for customers and visitors to the Park, including walkways, water features, and seating areas, all within easy reach of Bracknell town centre.
James Raven, Development Director of Goodman’s UK Business Parks, said: “We are delighted to have won a BALI Award which recognises landscaping quality across a number of Goodman managed sites. We pride ourselves on offering our customers high quality working environments in unique settings, which is why we are one of the world’s leading owner, developer and manager of industrial property and business space. Arlington Square Business Park is a prime example of how all the amenities a business community could need can be combined within natural surroundings. Its appeal has attracted leading names such as Novell, GMAC and Honeywell. We hope Arlington Square will continue to build on the success this award recognises.”
Arlington Square will now go forward to compete for the category prize and to become the overall Awards winner in a glittering awards ceremony on 4 December 2009 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
BALI Chief Executive Sandra Loton Jones commented: “The BALI National Landscape Awards showcase the ‘best of the best’ of the Landscaping Industry - from small domestic to multi million pound contracts. To win an award is a great achievement. Reliance Landscapes have assisted Goodman in showcasing the need for high quality landscaping and site maintenance in business parks – congratulations.”
Consistent with Goodman’s track record of creating premium business parks, the company has already won BALI Awards at three other sites in the UK. As well as picturesque natural surroundings, Arlington Park’s town centre location affords easy access to leisure and retail facilities, with over 300 brands and 40 independent retailers within a five minute walk of the site. The park is situated within easy access of major transport links, including M3, M4, M25 and Heathrow Airport.
Goodman has delivered superior business space solutions for blue-chip customers including Cadbury Schweppes, T-Mobile, Oxfam and NATS, amongst others. In October 2008, Goodman scooped two awards at Property Week’s 2008 Office Development Awards, winning the “Best overall development outside central London” and “Best bespoke development outside central London” categories.
